Founder and CEO

Adron Systems was founded by Richard B. Opsal, PhD (Analytical Chemistry, Indiana University, Bloomington). Experiences include:

  • Assistant Professor at Bemidji State University (Bemidji, MN) in the mathematics and computer science department. Responsible for teaching computer science programming courses including CS1 (Python), CS2 (C++), and Event Driven Programming (Qt).
  • Vice President and Co-Founder at ProLab Resources (Madison, WI). Responsible for the migration of the Vector/2™ and EnviroLink™ mass spectrometer data systems. Provided the framework for ProLab's Extend MS products and OEM consulting services.
  • Director of Software Development at Teknivent Corporation (St. Louis, MO). Responsible for continued development and design of the Vector/2 and EnviroLink data systems.

(Teknivent Corporation was the original developer of the Vector/2 and EnviroLink lines of data systems. Dr. Opsal was a key player in the development of these systems, first as a Scientific Programmer, and later as Director of Software Development.)

  • Postgraduate work at the Max-Planck-Institut für Quantenoptik (Garching, Germany). Data system development for CARS (Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy). Research the energy transfer between excited sodium atoms and hydrogen molecules.
  • Graduate work at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN). Development of time-of-flight mass spectrometers and associated data systems. Research the use of laser ionization for mass spectrometry and gas chromatography.
